Dear redditors of /r/math! A certain well-known bank from Germany runs a program where they give 1000 EUR to non-profit associations. We, PhD students in mathematics, organize a fun week-long math camp each year. School children (aged 11 to 19) who enjoy doing maths can go to the camp and learn exciting topics totally unrelated to the standard school curriculum, for instance Fibonacci numbers and Nim games, [proofs without words](https://github.com/iblech/mathezirkel-kurs/raw/master/mathecamp/beweise-ohne-worte/beweise-ohne-worte.pdf), binary numbers and magic squares, Buffon's needle, programming and group theory, elliptic curve cryptography, fractals and chaos, Conway's Soldiers, continued fractions, p-adic numbers, surreal numbers, four-dimensional geometry, and non-classical logic. We don't take a honorary, of course. But because we have almost no other funding, we have to pass the costs of accommodation and transport to the participants. If we secured some prize money, we could reduce the fees for the children. Children should go to the math camp if they have fun doing maths, not if additionally their parents make enough money. [See the happy faces of the almost 90 math camp participants of 2014 here.](http://speicherleck.de/iblech/stuff/mathecamp-2014.jpeg) **So, if you have a German cell phone number, please [vote for us at this link](https://verein.ing-diba.de/kinder-und-jugend/86135/matheschuelerzirkel-augsburg-des-mathematisch-physikalischen-ve)**.
